Please Stay 6ft Away From Me

I was going to write this post about the Chicago Beerfest at the Field Museum last weekend. It was, however, like so many events, canceled due to the COVID-19 virus. Then I was going to brew some beer, but unfortunately, I apparently threw away a piece of my Grainfather the last time I brewed. So basically my weekend was a total bust. Of course, a lot has changed in the last week, I’m writing this now under a statewide lockdown so…I guess it wasn’t really that bad of a weekend.

Instead of focusing on that, I like to just say that during these crazy times please be kind to each other. Please stop hoarding all the toilet paper and paper towels, I just want a couple of rolls yall! This virus is going to have a huge impact not just on those who become infected. Many people are going to be economically impacted by all the closures and layoffs. If you can please try to support your local businesses. They’re going to be hurting for a long time after everything returns to a sense of normalcy.

Many breweries are setting up digital donation pages to help their hourly employees while they are closed. Here are a few from the Chicagoland area please consider giving to them or ones in your area.

Or if in doubt buy some gift cards from your local breweries, for the beer lover in your life or me…

Many breweries that have restaurants are also accepting online/phone orders some are even offering delivery.

If you are a brewery owner and would like to list the ways people can get a hold of your beer while the world is shut, or you have a digital fundraiser for your employees. Send me the link and I’ll post here.

Be Safe Everyone!

P.S. After writing this I found out that On Tour Brewing and Marz Community Brewing Co. will deliver to anywhere in the city of Chicago
